Australian market entry · A division of GI Asia Pacific

Your Australian commercial team — before you build one.

We become the Australian commercial arm for established international companies. We validate demand, open customer and channel relationships, and build a live pipeline on the ground. When the case is proven, we hand over to your permanent Australian leadership.

For established international companies with a proven product and no Australian commercial team. We execute — we don't write reports.

01 — The moment

Australia is on the roadmap. The team isn't.

Most companies reach Australia the expensive way: hire a country manager, add a salesperson, open an entity, and commit $300,000 of payroll before anyone has met a customer. There is a step before that one.

  • 01You have a proven product or service in your home market
  • 02Australia is on the three-to-twelve-month plan
  • 03You don't yet have local commercial people, and hiring one is the next decision
  • 04The board wants evidence before an entity and a senior appointment
  • 05You need customers, distributors and partners — not another strategy document
02 — The engagement

Ninety days from decision to evidence.

A fixed sequence with defined outputs at each stage. You get named accounts, real meetings and a recommendation you can take to a board — not a market overview.

Days 01—30

Validate

Demand testing with real buyers. Competitor and channel mapping. Regulatory and compliance pathway. Pricing and entry economics for the Australian market. We interview the people who would actually buy from you.

Days 31—60

Build

Localised proposition and commercial materials. Named target account list. Distributor, channel and partner conversations opened. First customer meetings booked and attended under your name.

Days 61—90

Prove

Qualified pipeline with named accounts and stages. Pilots and reference prospects in motion. Twelve-month operating plan and launch budget. A clear go, no-go or wait recommendation with the numbers behind it.

Handover

Transfer

Country manager brief written from live market evidence. Support through recruitment and onboarding. Structured transfer of every relationship we've opened. Your permanent leader starts with a pipeline, not a blank page.

What you receive
  • 01 Buyer and decision-maker map
  • 05 Localised pricing model
  • 02 Distributor and channel shortlist
  • 06 Qualified pipeline, named accounts
  • 03 Regulatory and compliance pathway
  • 07 Twelve-month operating plan and budget
  • 04 Competitor and route-to-market analysis
  • 08 Go / no-go recommendation
03 — Engagements

Three ways in, depending on how far along you are.

Stage one 2—3 weeks

Australia Entry Assessment

A short, evidence-based read on whether Australia is worth your capital right now. Market sizing, competitive position, route to market, regulatory exposure and a recommended entry path.

  • Buyer and competitor landscape
  • Route-to-market options
  • Entry economics and risks
  • Recommended next step
Stage three 3—12 months

Interim Head of ANZ

Ongoing senior commercial leadership while you recruit, or while the market builds to the size that justifies a permanent team. Continuity of relationships through the transition.

  • Senior representation in-market
  • Account and channel management
  • Local operations and reporting
  • Recruitment and handover support

Engagements are retainer-based with a performance-linked component. We prefer to carry some of the outcome — where it makes sense, part of our fee is structured against pipeline and first revenue rather than time. Commercial terms are set on proposal after a scoping call.

04 — Where we're strongest

We take on markets we've actually sold into.

Australia is a small, concentrated market with a handful of gatekeepers in every category. Knowing who they are is the difference between ninety days of progress and ninety days of introductions.

Health, biotech and regulated services

Providers, clinics, diagnostics, medical technology, therapeutics and health services. Reimbursement, regulatory pathway and clinical channel access.

Hospitality, travel and wellness

Operators, brands, suppliers and technology into hotels, resorts, venues and the wellness and longevity segment across Australia and Southeast Asia.

Industrial, construction and infrastructure

Products, equipment, hire and services into tier-one and tier-two builders, civil contractors, government, events and the trade channel.

Consumer products and B2B technology

Consumer hardware, appliances and branded goods through retail and distribution; B2B software and services into mid-market and enterprise buyers.

05 — Why us

We're operators, not advisers.

Everything we'd do for your Australian entry, we are currently doing with our own capital.

GI Asia Pacific is a privately held investment company. We own and operate three businesses across biotechnology, consumer health and concierge healthcare, in Australia and across Southeast Asia. We raise for them, hire for them, negotiate their distribution and sit on their boards.

That is a different starting point from a consultancy. We have made the entry decisions we're advising you on, in the same market, with our own money at stake. When we tell you a channel doesn't work in Australia, it's because we've tried it.

06 — Operators

Two senior operators. You work with both.

There is no delivery team behind us and no junior consultant assigned to your account. The people who meet you are the people who open the doors.

07 — On the ground

Australian base. Regional reach.

Our own companies operate across Australia and Southeast Asia. That footprint is why we can take an entry conversation beyond Australia when the regional case makes sense.
